Omens from Samhain 2012 Worship Service
Omen taken by Skip using the oghams.
The question was: What lessons do the Kindred's want us to work on over the next six weeks?
For our Pre-ritual omen, we drew Onn, the Gorse. This teaches us about collecting things to us.
From the Ancestors, we drew Sail, the Willow. This teaches us of mysteries.
From the Spirits of Nature, we drew first my modifier for the Sky, Craobh Fhiodhag, the Bird Cherry, then Éabhadh, the White Poplar. This shows the Sky is important to teach us about bouyancy and how to float above things..
From the Shining Ones, we drew first my modifier for the Land, Mailp, the Norway Maple, then Ifín, the Gooseberry. This teaches us the Land and Nature is there to protect us.
For our after ritual omen, we drew first my modifier for the Land, Mailp, the Norway Maple again, then Ruis, the Elder. This reminds the Land and the Fair Folk are there for us.
Side Note: This is the first time since I've been using this sytem, IIRC about 1999, that I've drawn three modifiers in one omen taking.
Overall, we need to be able to bend and be flexible with what is coming over the next six weeks. A storm (?) is coming that we need to float above. the Land will have problems, but the Nature Spirits and Fair Folk will be there for us.
